Alcohol

Yes, alcohol can get expensive.  Drinks are about the price you pay at a nice restaurant.  A pina colada will be about $12.00.  There are ways to "handle" the expense.

1, Buy the "drink" package.  It is about $60 a day and each adult in the cabin must buy it.  You get up to 15 drinks a day.  This includes specialty coffees, sodas, juices and of course beer, wine and cocktails.  When sailing out of Texas it is only available beginning the 2nd day.  We have never done this.  I prefer to apply the dollars to my next cruise - face it I'm just too cheap.

  2. You can buy liquor and or beer and have it delivered to your cabin.  The liquor is very pricey.  I suspect the beer is too.

  3. Each person (adult) can take a .75 ml bottle of wine on board with them (in their carryon).  This lasts me about 3 hours.

  4.  Or you can be a dishonest reprobate like me... Sneak it on.  This works for rum, vodka, wine, etc.  Google rum runners or just shop for them on Amazon.  If beer is your thing - your only thing - all I can say is save up if you want to drink up.

  5. The truth is, we have aged into that time of life where we don't / can't drink as much as we used to.  We seem to savor our drinks and are well past the need of putting rum in our morning coffee.
