McKito is a West Highland Terrier or a Westie. He is white - or should be. He is so thankful Bethany went off to college and made him an only child. She also left behind a cat named Maggie that McKito has adopted as his own personal pet. We occasionally feel sorry for Maggie when he herds her from one room to the other, but better her than us.

In March 2009 we drove to Oklahoma in a blizzard to pick up our latest addition to the family.  Pippin is a Westie we adopted from the Oklahoma Westie Rescue group.  She was a sad little thing - ear infection, rash and quiet when we got her.  However, she did like to play.  After a month with us - she is getting chunky.

Pippin and McKito are living proof that wrestling is not fake.    She weighs 1/3 less than he does and she wins the take down a good bit of the time.

If you are thinking about getting a dog - think about a rescue dog.  If you want a Westie - the Oklahoma group has a website and they are professional and caring.   The Oklahoma Westie Rescue web site always has need for volunteers even if you cannot adopt.

If you are thinking about getting any dog - please be a responsible owner.  Do your research and know what to expect. Understand they are animals and they will depend on you for everything - food, love and quality of life.  Please, do not let them down.

Do NOT support puppy mills.  If you don't know about this atrocity - do some research on the internet.
